→  LESSON SEVEN

There is no doubt about it, life feels lousy when we are sleep deprived. Yet many people today don’t get adequate amounts of quality sleep due to three sleep-stealing culprits. In this lesson you will learn how to combat these sleep-stealing culprits so that you can “rest to feel your best”.

LESSON 7

L.E.T.S. do it by following the 4 steps!

Here are some more fun resources relating to this lesson:

I just had to include this hilarious video of kids falling asleep while eating. Just goes to show that sleep even trumps food!

In this TED talk, Matt Walker claims that “Sleep is your superpower“.

There are many excellent resources available from the National Sleep Foundation that are worth checking out.

→  EXPERIENCE, STEP TWO

One of the best ways to learn is to do. Let me show you how to put the learnings from this lesson into practice. Watch the video or read about it below!

IT’S CHALLENGE BY CHOICE.

Any positive steps you make are steps in the right direction. But if you really want to challenge yourself…

#1.  Each day this week spend 8-hours in bed (without looking at a screen). Of course you can get out of bed to go to the bathroom and you might not be sleeping the entire 8 hours, but give yourself the opportunity to get this amount of sleep and see what happens.

#2.  Once this week enjoy a night by firelight. Ideally, sitting around a campfire with friends but if that is not possible light some candles (make sure you put the fire out before you fall asleep!).

→  THINK, STEP THREE

What’s the Big Idea? What are three things you learnt in this lesson and how might they change the way you approach your sleeping habits? Tell someone else who you think could benefit from these insights.

How did the challenges go? Did spending at least 8 hours in bed or the night by firelight give you a lift? If so, how could you make these practices more habitual?

→  SHARE, STEP FOUR
